I can't use programs that require .NET Framework.

I'm trying to use a program that has previously worked flawlessly. This program is called GHTCP, which is used with Guitar Hero 3 PC. It requires .NET Framework 2.0 or higher to use. All of sudden, the program just stopped working. I asked to program creator about this, and he said that it sounds like a .NET Framework so here I am.

I'm running Windows Vista. I've tried uninstalling and then installing .NET Framework 3.0 but thats not working. I found that .NET Framework is part of the OS so I can't remove it. Is there any way aside from repairing/reinstalling Windows that I can fix this?

    Oh my GOD, Can we stop babbling about whats built in to what OS? I KNOW THESE THINGS, STOP REPEATING IT. This is funny because of MS has a bad rep for support and you aren't even on the MS team!

    When I try to install 2.0 it says that its already included in my OS. I don't know how to get a full error message, so you'll have to tell me. The only thing I get when it crashes is the common little Vista crash window that says:

    "Guitar Hero Three Control Panel Has stopped working

    A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."

    SO, how do I get the error message that you need? And I'd rather if ITknowledge24 just stopped trying to help me. Thanks for trying, but you aren't really helping and you're just flooding my email inbox.

    Does there appear any JIT dialog, JIT means Just-In-Time Debugger Dialog??

    Please provide more details go to the Action Center and check the error

    details and open Event Viewer and check the errir details.

    I DID post the error message but you were too busy telling me everything I know and arguing a point that had nothing to do with anything at all ever.

    Here's the message:

    ".NET Runtime Optimization Service (clr_optimization_v2.0.50727_32) - Service reached limit of transient errors. Will shut down. Last error returned from Service Manager: 0x80029c4a."

    Try****set the NGEN service startup type as "Manual". 1. Stop the service in "services.msc". 

    2. Run ngeninstall***[***assemblyName |assemblyPath]

    to install some assemblies to the cache.

    3. Once that is done, run ngen display [assemblyName| assemblyPath ]

    to see if the assemblies installed by the above command display.

    Please try to close other programs when running this.

    Uses v2.0 = .NET Framework 2.0.
