Accidentally deleted my Inbox! How do I recover my emails?

Hi,

I have the same problem.  I am using Outlook Mail via my browser.  I think it's sometimes called the web app for Outlook.  I get there by accessing it via www.hotmail.com.

From my Inbox, I can select all of my emails (all 8,000 of them) and can with one accidental click (press the Delete button) have them moved over to my Deleted folder.  However, there doesn't seem to be any way to select them all and move them back!

This is a MAJOR over site!

Hopefully, I'm just not seeing how to do this.

Things I've tried that I also consider broken are:

• In Deleted folder click the button that selects ALL emails in that folder.

a. With all selected there should be a move option at the top, just like when I individually select 2 or more emails.

b. After all are selected, I unclick ONE email.  That SHOULD leave me with 8,000 emails minus 1 selected.  But, instead it changes what's currently selected to be just what is loaded and visible?  Not sure the algorithm here.  Seems random as I move up and down the list of emails and try to unselect one email at the top, middle and bottom.  But, the bottom line is that after unselecting ONE email I am left with about 20 selected instead of the 8,000 minus 1 that SHOULD be selected.

UPDATE:  Ok.  I have stumbled on a way to do bulk email movement from the Deleted folder to the Inbox.  Do the following steps and this helps a little.

1. Click the first email.
2. With your middle mouse wheel (or the down arrow) move the currently highlighted email (the grey background on the email that is the "current" email) down about 20-25 emails.  Do this with the SHIFT key NOT being held.
3. THEN hold the SHIFT key and click on the currently highlighted email on the screen.  This ADDS new emails to the list of already selected emails from the last selected (up above) to the current one you just now selected.
4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 until you get about 500 emails selected (I didn't want to do more for fear of losing the 500 I was able to select at once; but, you can probably do more).
5. Right click with the mouse over one of the selected emails and from the popup menu select "Move" and then "Inbox".  Wait for the numbers to change (it's not immediate).

If you are moving down on step 2 and go too far, Outlook loses the cached "last" selected item and you can't do SHIFT-CLICK to bulk select (yet another bug if you ask me).  If that happens you went down too far.  You can just scroll back up to the last selected email and do step 2 again to not lose all of the selections you already have.

MICROSOFT, THIS IS NOT A FIX!!  Your interface is BROKEN in MANY ways.

You need to put about 5000 email in an account and have one of your senior developers to play with the interface for a while.  They will find MANY problems with this interface in a short period of time.  Especially in the search interface.

I accidently deleted my Archives and inbox messages, Please guide me to  retrieving them.

check your DELETED box and if  your messages are there, click on MOVE TO to replace them into your inbox.
