Programs Crash, error: Fault module kernelbase.dll . Application crash

I have several programs that seems to be in some conflict with kernelbase.dll. They crash the moment I start them and kernelbase.dll is the fault module.

I've tried installing windows twice but the problem persist.

I've tried running in 'clean boot'.

I've tried 'Windows Resource Protection'

I've tried running the program in different compatability states.

Nothing helps. Any ideas?

I guess you have answered it yourself. User Profile corruption.

Log in as a different User. rename the problem profile. Log in as the original user again. A new profile will get created. If the crash is gone, copy your over your user data from the corrupted one.

If it does not solve the issue. Repeat steps with default folder too. This is the template profile, when creating new profiles.

    Thank you.  I got ccleaner but I have problems,  Im getting a new hard drive.  I hate all the bs these days.  too much gobbledegook. lol

    Ditto...only crashes on Silverlight. Removed & reinstalled and everything is working.

    I have trouble with ReadPlayer 16, too.  It is not Silverlight, although I will not use Silverlight because it causes problems on 2 diff laptops, (HP and Dell) with Win7 home and Win 7 Professional, respectively. User profile corruption fixed only part of the problem.  I verified all peripheral and component drivers (via Device manager, right-click, to find driver name and version #) by going to the manufacturer's site. I found that "Windows" driver updates for a Realtek Ethernet network card and a separate update for an HD Audio device caused crashes.  Makes me wonder what the above person did with the keyboard device driver.  I had Windows Updates configured to block all downloads and installations unless it notifies me, I can review all of them, then select what I want installed.  This is the only way I stopped MOST of my problems.   Also found that RealPlayer conflicts with other music downloads, such as iTunes.   Best solution:  install all players EXCEPT RealPlayer, complete all your downloads in a new folder on C:|  (I named c:\Personal\Music to where I  download all music via SaveAs.)  

    THEN I uninstalled ALL other players, including Windows Media Player if it is in there.   (If you have a licensed registry cleaner, run that now.  But do NOT rely on any free registry cleaner as they often cause more problems than fix, with MAYBE the except of ccleaner.exe, which lets you exclude what it searches for and you can manually select what it will delete from registry and from OS (e.g. .tmp, .dmp. .log .reg and other file extensions; many you do not want deleted. Other free cleaners do not give as much configuration control).    So, after you clean the registry, IF you have a reliable cleaner, install RealPlayer, and select ALL filename extensions so it becomes your default player for all music file types.   It can play any music downloaded via any other app, such as iTunes, Bearshare, etc.

    The combination of all this fixed my problems.
