I have several programs that seems to be in some conflict with kernelbase.dll. They crash the moment I start them and kernelbase.dll is the fault module.
I've tried installing windows twice but the problem persist.
I've tried running in 'clean boot'.
I've tried 'Windows Resource Protection'
I've tried running the program in different compatability states.
Nothing helps. Any ideas?

I guess you have answered it yourself. User Profile corruption.
Log in as a different User. rename the problem profile. Log in as the original user again. A new profile will get created. If the crash is gone, copy your over your user data from the corrupted one.
If it does not solve the issue. Repeat steps with default folder too. This is the template profile, when creating new profiles.

I had a similar problem with Kernalbase.dll. I tried re-naming the profile but it didn't clear the fault problem. Next I created a new profile and copied the old profile data to the new as suggested. The new new profile worked fine without errors but I had to re-register with a lot of my programs and games and change a lot of pointers to the area were I store all my pix, docs, videos, game saves and such so all of users can see the files and I can back them up En-mass. What a PAIN! It took hours. Windows keeps making it harder to configure the hdd the way I like it by insidiously squirreling my files away in hidden directories.

I have had the same problem with applications like:
This occurs after I tried to recover my computer from a faulty update. I suspect this was caused by a corruption in a file or something during the update. (I have to note that while updating, the power was cut off in our place momentarily thereby shutting off my computer without giving it chance to finish the update.
My Operating System is Windows 7 Ultimate and I found this solution which could probably work for you, too, as it did for me.
