Hello,

I just entered a CD into my disc drive and noticed nothing was happening. So I went to manually click on the disc drive itself, and saw that it was completely gone. When going through the troubleshooting process in Windows 7, this note came up:

A driver (service) for this device has been disabled.  An alternate driver may be providing this functionality. (Code 32).

Obviously I need to re-enable this service, but I am clueless as to which one or how to do so. Any help would be appreciated!

Try the following MS KB article:

Try following the steps for Windows Vista which should also work for Windows 7.

    Finally a solution that worked thank you!!!  In my case the issue was bad upper and lower filters preventing the drive from functioning... not sure how that occured but glad to have my drive online again!!

    Hi Auggy,

    I have the same issue with this "No Audio Output Device is Installed. I installed drivers, went into device manager, uninstalled, installed rebooted, shut down, enabled , disabled. re-Installed drivers, Ate 10 aspirins and just cannot seem to fix this system 32 error code....Ughhhh Please Help

    Hi jonSENER,

    The issue may be similar to the issue with CD/DVD drive but involves a different registry key.

    Can you check the following registry key:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class{4D36E96C-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

    At that registry key, in the right window, is there, under "Name", either an UpperFilters or LowerFilters value?

    If so, for each of the UpperFilters and/or LowerFilters value, what is listed under "Data"?

    Hi

    I see Upper Filter Only in "Data" ksthunk stdriver voxaldriver    ..is listed

    My Speaker, in the lower rt of the pc has a red X, In device manager the

    "sound Video Controllers" are all yellow flagged
