Hello,
I just entered a CD into my disc drive and noticed nothing was happening. So I went to manually click on the disc drive itself, and saw that it was completely gone. When going through the troubleshooting process in Windows 7, this note came up:
A driver (service) for this device has been disabled. An alternate driver may be providing this functionality. (Code 32).
Obviously I need to re-enable this service, but I am clueless as to which one or how to do so. Any help would be appreciated!

2012-06-11T04:07:53+00:00 There is an UpperFilters value at that registry key pointing to GEARAspiWDM.
What has happened is you may have uninstalled software, such as iTunes, that left that UpperFilters value but removed the GEARAspiWDM.sys from the C:\Windows\System32\drivers folder.
There are various ways to fix this.
One way would be to install the Gear driver which should restore the GEARAspiWDM.sys to the C:\Windows\System32\drivers folder.
However if you have no software installed, such as iTunes, that would use the GEARAspiWDM.sys you could just remove the UpperFilters value.
To do that copy and paste the following into Notepad and save as a .reg file (save with the .reg extension and give it any name such as fixcd.reg):
First create a System Restore point then double-click the saved .reg file, add to the registry, and restart the computer.
