Age of Empires 2 on Windows 7 has color issues

Hello, i want to run Age of Empires 2 on my Windows 7 rc computer. But there are color issuse when i run it, the grass aren't green and the water isent blue. How should i do to fix this? I have try to run it complatify with windows xp service pack 2, and installd some driexct 9 drivers. but not result to better colors. I hope someone have a good answer, because i love this game.

Go into task manager select the processes tab and end explorer.exe then alt-tab back into age of empires

Note: this will make your task bar disapear and any open folders

To restart explorer open the task manager agian in the aplications tab hit new task and type explorer in the box

The colours change because of the Aero theme's poor handling of colours

Edit:

You can also make a batch file with the following lines and place it in the same location as your age of empires 2 executable

taskkill /F /IM Explorer.exe

age2_x1.exe

Start explorer.exe

    Hello Lloyd, I had no probloms to get it work. I just run it and it worked as in XP. Try to update your graphics drivers, install DirectX again or try to reinstal system. Maybe try to borrow other graphics card and try. But AoE should run as charm on W7.

    Your solution worked like a charm dude! Now I ask you this, Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds runs off of the AoE2 Engine and it has the same issue, is there any way you could edit your .bat to make it apply to that as well? Or Perhaps incorporate it into your Program. Thanks in advance,

    Yes, this is possible. I can rewrite a little bit my AoC collor FiX just for your game, but I need you to tell me, what is the exact name of the game executable. I can do that for you.

    OR other solution could be: just leave to run AoC color fix, find any executable (for example notepad or CPU-Z ...), copy it anywhere you want and rename it to the "Age2_x1.exe" . Now make the .bat file (of any name), which will run 2 executables in right order. It will run as the 1st one copied notepad renamed to Age2_x1.exe and after this, it will run your game executable. This is gonna work as well :).
