Hi,
Why Windows 7 is not providing the virtual desktops like in Mac or Linux ? It helps a lot in arranging the applications into various groups like personal, office etc and placing them on different desktops.

The download does not seem to be malware. I suggest you might scan the file with another Antivirus such as Microsoft Security Essentiasl and see if you come up with the same results.

I've developed an application because I wanted the same thing. My program is extremely lightweight and requires no configuring.
You install, or you can use the zip and just run it. Then use alt+ the number of the desktop to switch to it. Then alt+ctrl+number to send the active window to a desktop.
My program is open source and free.
The current desktop is shown in the tray on the icon, and the icon can optionally be hidden.

No, this software doesn't do that. Desktop icons will remain the same across all desktops. Its purpose is to allow you to have different applications open on different desktops, which is useful from an organizational standpoint (for example, having all Word documents open on one desktop, all Excel files open on another, etc.).
getho, i think Jasons software might be a scam/virus/malware. All the people on this forum who said "oh jason so awesome exactly what i needed" have only 1 post on "microsoft answers" - i assume jason made all those accounts to make his software look legit.
Oh please. Have you even tried his software? Visited his site? Or did you just made accusations without doing any research of your own? Maybe all those people created an account just to thank Jason for great software that does exactly what they wanted it to do. I've done that before and I would have done it again if I didn't already have an account (and other posts, btw). So before you tear someone down for providing great, free software in his own time, spend a little of your own time to find out the facts.
Oh man, this is wonderful. Exactly what I was looking for. I essentially have two jobs at work, and for both I need dual monitors. This saves me from having four monitors on my desk (which just takes up too much real estate). By the way, do you have any way to accept donations? I'd love to show my appreciation in a more tangible way. :)
