Hi,

Why Windows 7 is not providing the virtual desktops like in Mac or Linux ? It helps a lot in arranging the applications into various groups like personal, office etc and placing them on different desktops.

Hello SanatTalmaki,

The download does not seem to be malware. I suggest you might scan the file with another Antivirus such as Microsoft Security Essentiasl and see if you come up with the same results.

I've developed an application because I wanted the same thing. My program is extremely lightweight and requires no configuring.

You install, or you can use the zip and just run it. Then use alt+ the number of the desktop to switch to it. Then alt+ctrl+number to send the active window to a desktop.

My program is open source and free.

The current desktop is shown in the tray on the icon, and the icon can optionally be hidden.

    LOL My AVG AV killed the app right after installing and on first run. It moved all the files to the vault and deleted the associated registry entries. 

    It did not recognize the threat or attempted to name it. It gave it a "severe" qualification. 

    Scanner was freshly downloaded, installed and updated.

    Using Windows 7 (DUH!). I do not know wtf the gateway has to do with anything. Or why should I "fine tune it" to make a virtual desktop application run (?)

    I am not interested in having to install a firewall to prevent a potentially malicious software to communicate to the exterior. I would rather do what I am doing: Post to the developer's attention that they should come out with something my AV is comfortable with.

    I realise this is an old thread but for the record I've used Virtuawin for years and find it to be robust, mature and configurable.

    The lastest one i found which called nSpaces virtual desktop manager at http://www.bytesignals.com/nspaces/

    The GUI is very cool!
