In every application on my computer, my cursor jumps around while typing. I can not type fast because I have toconstantly bring the cursor back to where I am typing (just did it again right now). Something is wrong and needs to be fixed. I am not technical and have no idea how to fix or what forum this question belongs in. Please advise.

To all who have been having 'cursor jumps around while typing' problem.  I had the same problem and had my Sony VAIO support team help me with it.  They put in a fix that worked.  Microsoft.  It would be beneficial if you could contact Sony regarding this problem and access to the solution they put in place for me, since they seem to have found a solution to the problem.

disabling the touchscreen is no good as I have a Samsung SF310 with only one USB port. So I would have to use that one and only port for the mouse thus prohibiting me to using any other add -on such as an internet dongle.  thanks for the information but no use to me. Geoff

I had the same problem of my cursor jumping around erraticly after loading Windows 7 on an HP Pavilion Laptop. Windows 7 did not load the driver for my Synaptics Touchpad so for those of you who maybe upgraded your operating system recently, you might want to check to see that your Laptop touchpad or whatever pointing device you were using actually got loaded after your upgrade. If, by chance, you have an HP Laptop with the Synaptics Touchpad just go to the Synaptics web site and download the latest driver and all will be well...I hope. It worked for me. Regards - HOOKSEVEN.
