In every application on my computer, my cursor jumps around while typing. I can not type fast because I have toconstantly bring the cursor back to where I am typing (just did it again right now). Something is wrong and needs to be fixed. I am not technical and have no idea how to fix or what forum this question belongs in. Please advise.

To all who have been having 'cursor jumps around while typing' problem.  I had the same problem and had my Sony VAIO support team help me with it.  They put in a fix that worked.  Microsoft.  It would be beneficial if you could contact Sony regarding this problem and access to the solution they put in place for me, since they seem to have found a solution to the problem.

Here is my solution, as this problem just recently crept up on my machine as I am posting often into forums and this issue was driving me nuts.

Turn off all the extra check boxes on your Touch pad.

If you open up the Control Panel and click on Windows Mobility Center and modify your Touchpad settings; I turned off CLICK TO TAP and TOUCH CHECK. I also turned off all Single and Double finger gestures. This solved the problem and I have not had the issue since completing this action.

Thanks. My cursor misbehaved since a couple days. I downloaded latest driver updates from my laptop manufacturer’s website and and that took care of the problrm.

I don't agree with the touch pad thing. My HP has an off button for the touchpad and the courser still jumps. grrr. This didn't happen till I upgraded to windows7.

This is a complete fob off by Microsoft, who have a serious error here that only happened upon using Windows "bloody" 7 when the cursor randomly jumps back.  I wrote a 140,000 word book in xp and never had this problem MICROSOFT admit you hav a problem and SORT IT OUT!!!!!!
