In every application on my computer, my cursor jumps around while typing. I can not type fast because I have toconstantly bring the cursor back to where I am typing (just did it again right now). Something is wrong and needs to be fixed. I am not technical and have no idea how to fix or what forum this question belongs in. Please advise.

To all who have been having 'cursor jumps around while typing' problem. I had the same problem and had my Sony VAIO support team help me with it. They put in a fix that worked. Microsoft. It would be beneficial if you could contact Sony regarding this problem and access to the solution they put in place for me, since they seem to have found a solution to the problem.

I have the same problem on my Dell Inspiron 1525. From reading the many entries in the forum that pertain to this identical problem, it is very widespread.
The majority of the suggested solutions related to the touchpad and advised disabling it. As I cannot find any tab that permits me to disable it--and yes, I tried Control Panel/Hardware/Mouse without finding anywhere to disable the touchpad--I took a more direct route and pasted a piece of PostIt over my touchpad. It is not elegant and it feels odd under the edge of both hands, but it seems to have solved the problem.
