In every application on my computer, my cursor jumps around while typing. I can not type fast because I have toconstantly bring the cursor back to where I am typing (just did it again right now). Something is wrong and needs to be fixed. I am not technical and have no idea how to fix or what forum this question belongs in. Please advise.

To all who have been having 'cursor jumps around while typing' problem.  I had the same problem and had my Sony VAIO support team help me with it.  They put in a fix that worked.  Microsoft.  It would be beneficial if you could contact Sony regarding this problem and access to the solution they put in place for me, since they seem to have found a solution to the problem.

I have the same problem.  I will try to disable the mouse pad.

I absolutely agree! it is definitely a software problem. my observations are:

    1. it is not because you accidentally touch the touchpad, i rarely do that..
    2. the cursor jumps suddenly, for no reason, to where the mouse is parked.... if the mouse was outside the window, suddenly you are no longer typing, if it was somewhere within the previously typed text now you are typing in the middle of your text
    3. fast typing also ends up sending messages by itself... so i'm guessing they have some key combination shortcuts for sending messages, for jumping to mouse position etc.... it is really annoying because it seems to become worse when i'm typing fast....
    4. so, in conclusion: not a hardware issue, not a user issue, but it is definitely a software problem!!!

i'd really like to see this addressed, it is by far the most annoying thing in Windows 8. very severe problem!

I have had the same problem with my Gateway,so it happens with all brands.Just downloaded the Touchfreeze download and I don`t know if that will help or not. I sure  hope so.Seems to work as long as the pointer is not in the screen.Best thing I have tried so far.Still quits on me though, but better that than jumping around.

I have been suffering the frustration of the cursor jump WAY too long. So thanks for this! I would finally get a few minutes reprieve from the kids to post or email and just want to SCREAM when I spent so much time playing catch the cursor. You guys are lifesavers, literally, my babies thank you!

I must give a runners up shout out to the folks who suggested the touchfreeze program... when I get a few more minutes I might download that... since I still seem to have a bit of a problem when I do accidentally touch the pad whilst typing fast... I do rest my wrists on the computer....

to point out how much this helped, i took the time to set up a mc account just so i could comment

    THANKS!
