In every application on my computer, my cursor jumps around while typing. I can not type fast because I have toconstantly bring the cursor back to where I am typing (just did it again right now). Something is wrong and needs to be fixed. I am not technical and have no idea how to fix or what forum this question belongs in. Please advise.

To all who have been having 'cursor jumps around while typing' problem. I had the same problem and had my Sony VAIO support team help me with it. They put in a fix that worked. Microsoft. It would be beneficial if you could contact Sony regarding this problem and access to the solution they put in place for me, since they seem to have found a solution to the problem.
My cursor constantly jumps too but I don't know how to disable the mousepad (fingerpad?) at the bottom...? I'm not currently using a mouse. I used to have an app that prevented it from jumping but it went to the computer repair and he took it off and I can't remember what the name of the app was. Anyone have suggestions or names of apps? Thanks.
My cursor jumps when I type especially when I hit a key hard.
Also my typing highlights a portion often and with the next stroke all the highlighted print is removed.

Turing off the touch screen (not the touch pad) fixed my problem. Apparently the touch screen began failing.
I found online help, Geek Squad, and others relatively naive on this issue. When properly diagnosed they could turn off the touch pad but not the touch screen.
