Windows Media Center IR Hardware not detected

Where can I purchase the hardware that Media Centre is asking for?

I think all of you guys are missing the idea and the question. I do not have the option to use a RF signal. I want to use my s-video jack and toslink cable for digital audio. I like high quality digital signals not RF input. I have no need like many others to use an IR to control my input. I am using a camera to input my signal and an item with no RF output. I should not have to buy extra hardware. My ATI catallyst disc got broken by my children and so I am left using media center, but I can't due to its inability to be simple and flexible.

I could spend extra money to buy another software package but if I do that I will be formatting my drive after a bacup and installing Ubuntu with Myth TV as my TV tuner. It doesn't have these issues.

I am not sure if any of you are having this problem and dont have an ir device. i just recently went from windows 7 x86 to windows 7 x64 and ran into a hole new set of problems. I had had this same computer running fine with an ir blaster with the 32 bit windows but a recent memory upgrade forced me to change to 64 bit and the ir blaster drivers that i was using all the sudden wouldnt work for the new opperating system. with alot of fumbling around and playing with the setup on an older computer that i have that is running windows xp media center i came up with the solution. to get it all working with the set top box what you have to do is set it all up with the box not connected to the system becuse if it is pluged into the computer it sees that it is a set top box and will always ask for the ir device. so once you have the cable disconected you go to tasks, then settings and setup TV signal. go through the setup the same but now it will allow you to make changes in there that it wouldn't allow before. including telling the system that there is no set top box. now this will not help with the hole windows changing the channels and it kind of makes the hole recording of live TV when i am away from the house kind of a pain but IT WORKS NOW, that is all i was really out to make happen all the other things are just a minor inconvenience. oh and by the way after you set all this up make sure that you go in and change your virtual memory this will help with the hole stuttering of the system while watching live TV. i am not sure why the virtual memory is so important to the media center but i have had machines with a quarter of the memory that this machine has and they would run fine but only after the virtual memory was adjusted. i would have thought that this machine with so much more physical memory wouldn't of had the same problem but fortunately i had already dealt with that problem in the past so it was an easy fix. I hope that this was helpful to some one out there, i found parts of this fix online but not the hole thing i really just had to take what others had done and made it work for me.....

I get this problem also, but I actually have IR hardware... what gives? This used to work in Vista but now my IR receiver / sender does not work in Windows7. I look in the device manager and everything appears to have drivers and I can use my remote to drive media center so I know the IR Receiver actually works. Very frustrating. 

I have this problem too! However we installed it with Windows 7 and I have the darn wire sitting in front of me!  However the ir remote never really worked anyway!  Driving me BATTY!
