have seen as high as 7.

they seem to get faster the further along it goes.

look into using AUSLOGICS degragger instead.

faster and also has an option to move system files to the front.

I'm going through the defrag process for the first time on my laptop.

I purchased it new on 23rd August 2012

installed the must have programmes for me was going to defrag next time I powered up,

little did I know that I would be taken ill and would not be able to use the laptop till 15 October 2012 at 2pm

The first thig I did was to start the defrag programme it's still running some 48 hours later and Defrag is now on pass 7:32% consolidated I have a 300GB drive that has 238.9 GB free

can anyone suggest how much longer the defrag will take?

If you click the tell me more at the top it says it may take "Several minutes to a few hours".

Mine is at pass 9 after 4 days.

Must be another example of the Microsoft clock.
