How many passes before defrag finishes?

I am try to defrag my hard drive. It's on its 4th pass in 24 hours. How many passes does it make before it's done?

have seen as high as 7.

they seem to get faster the further along it goes.

look into using AUSLOGICS degragger instead.

faster and also has an option to move system files to the front.

How do you know what the pass is? I have seen the blue wheel going around for over 12 hours but there is no indication of the pass.

Thank you to everybody who has responded. I think if I had been informed as to what to expect, I would not have been concerned. In the past I was able to view a graph and increasing percentage numbers. Now I just saw the blue wheel going indefinitely around.
