How many passes before defrag finishes?

I am try to defrag my hard drive. It's on its 4th pass in 24 hours. How many passes does it make before it's done?

have seen as high as 7.

they seem to get faster the further along it goes.

look into using AUSLOGICS degragger instead.

faster and also has an option to move system files to the front.

I'm gonna cry... People says 41 passes... I'm on my 12th !!!

But I'm gonna try the software page 1 to defrag my PC...

By the way, I've got a stupid question ^^

Is it necessary to defrag my computer if I did the manual thing "cmd" on windows searching bar and "dir/s" ??

Mine is on the second set of 7 passes! My drive is supposed to defragment weekly, but it still has 1% that won't defrag. I have no power options or task manager. Is this even on my C: if I have a hybrid dell with windows reloaded?...yup two sets of 7 passes and still 1% fragmented. Help?

Why are you trying to defrag a disk that's reported as only 1% fragmented? There will always be fragmentation, and in general anything at 10% or less should be left alone. Windows auto-defrag should be enough.
