I am try to defrag my hard drive. It's on its 4th pass in 24 hours. How many passes does it make before it's done?

have seen as high as 7.

they seem to get faster the further along it goes.

look into using AUSLOGICS degragger instead.

faster and also has an option to move system files to the front.

    It took me a grand total of 14 passes and about 8 hours with a 450gb hard drive.

    doing a defrag right now....pass 91: 1% consolidation.....on going. hoping I crack the 100 mark.

    Mine is at pass 17 on a 320gb SATA it just keeps going
