have seen as high as 7.

they seem to get faster the further along it goes.

look into using AUSLOGICS degragger instead.

faster and also has an option to move system files to the front.

I made a mistake and before I wanted to launch a new site thought I should defrag my drive since I've written and deleted so many times/files.  Oh boy.. what a mistake.. it took 6 days to just go through pass 1.. can't risk touching it and loosing data.. if anybody else ever thinks of doing such a thing.. DON'T DO IT!!! You'll be sorry..   it's a powerful quad core machine with 16 gigs of ram.. can't stop it.. can't reboot it.. STUCK till it finishes.. what a dumb mistake .. if anybody has any suggestions (besides stop it and re-image.. etc) can't be done.. it's a live web server with sites on it

I have two 2tb hard drives 60% full I defrag weekly it takes about 5-10 min each. Remember the longer you wait the longer it it will take. Keeping 0% fragmented all the time will keep it running smooth
