I noticed that someone else had this problem.  Does anyone know how to fix it?

I drove my self crazy trying to remedy this dilema for two days. I finally downloaded a program from Stardock called Windows Blinds. That solved my problem.

Thanks for that; I deleted the picture (not one of mine) that was in that folder and back to working!

i had the system tools virus and after i got rid of it, couldnt change my background. i tried a bunch of fixes found online, including on this page, i found the solution on my own after hours of alternating between emotional displays of frustration and praying. go into  control panel> appearance and personalization> under folder options- show hidden files and folders> view tab> hidden files and folders- make sure show hidden files, folders, and drives is selected. then go into your system folder, usually denoted by your name, then underneath written system folder (start> computer> desktop> usually your name/ system folder) , right click on AppData>click properties> unselect hidden> select ok> select yes for perform action for all sub folders. this proceedure might go without saying to the tech savvy, but im not that savvy and no one offered this as a fix that i could find.
