trying to get replacement USB transceiver for my wireless keyboard

I"m disgusted, that without MS's DIRECT engagement  here on t his forum, we are just spinning our collective wheels, or at least that is how it feels a lot of the time.

Its meaningless, but I shall endeavor to articulate my own position, regardless, and with likely equal meaninglessness.

I had one replaced for the same reason in original post.

They gave me a new one , entirely as in mouse and keyboard.

I didn't expect that, but I appreciated it deeply.

I don't appreciate the Gigantic mess, MS 'edge' is though, and I wish I"d known that,  way way way way way before I started using it and collecting 'bookmarks , on the bookmark 'bar.

Ive said over and over why that is so, but it goes into think air as no one , on these very meaningless forums ever, ever comes back with meaningful and factual resolutions.

Is MS aware of edge failures, and are they planning on fixing them or  forcing us to another browser ?

I'd love to know now, so I can choose to stay as I await the 'fixes' or go to FF, once and for all.

I no longer trust MS, regardless of its cute technological endeavor with 'nasa' because if they can't handle a simple OS ( with their yEARS of experience ) how can they do much else in the way of innovation ?

Anyway this topic is keyboards mice and replacing bad dongles so, I"ve stated mine was replaced which was impressive, but to get that far I went though  far far too many emails back in forth, luckily I had 'time' but someone else would have given up a long time ago I imagine.

I brought up edge only because its indicative imho, of the mess windows 10 in some ways has turned into.

Windows 7 was solid enough and bookmarking worked as intended as it does here in windows 10 using 'internet explorer', but using a old browser when edge is what ms wants EVERYONE to use, and advertises about constantly online AND AT THE DESKTOP level, should concern most.

I'd be happy to oblige using edge, but  ironically and sad for MS, is the embarrassing fact, that IE DOES have sane bookmark far functionality, ONLY in terms of clicking a 'folder' inside a bar 'folder', doesn't force the menu on the far OPEN like edge does.

I found no setting to stop this nightmarish behavior, or did I miss  it ?

That is my only gripe basically, and also that, embarrassingly for ms, that when you say, have to bookmark bar folders as many do, next to each other, and click one and decide oops I wanted the other one, and unlike both chrome && FF, you must click 'twice' to get to the new one.

Folks, this is  childs play yet  MS can't do it ,and it was a problem in both IE , and now edge.

What message is this sending ?

I"m sorry to some if this seems trite, but its a big huge deal to those of us who use browsers every day and have oodles and oodles of bars with folders where browse through daily.

I don't know  how they missed this, some lousy UI engineer  cooked it up  I guess but chrome and ff both got it right , and I insist its embarrassing edge and ie could  not.

If that's the best they  have, why didn't they do us all a favor and leave the OS market and go with mobile .

Its fine to 'cater' to a certain audience, but that leaves out everyone else.

I don't recall honestly, if windows eight had the same issues as above, and if it didn't , why did MS leave that behind, just to appease a few tablet users and force desktop users to use a ridiculously contrived setup ?

To me this is not how a current market leader in desktop OS' should be running its products.

Yes, due to this quagmire of features, I  had to install and use ff and chrome, where if not for these insane ui choices, I would not have had to dump more apps and their resulting space wasting resources on my rig.

Thats the point ;)

That , and we get no input as to if MS is even aware of these crazy UI choices , and IF they are planning on doing anything about it.

 In fact, if a business were to purchase 100 wireless keyboards and mice the chances are some of the dongles would be interchangeable.         

Would you mind sharing the data upon which this misguided observation was made?  How many variations are there?

The model before this from MS had a tiny button on the USB transceiver and also on the keyboard adn mouse.   You could re-pair any of the units with each other. BUT they would only work with the coupled transceiver. Simple & very usable.     We work in a 50 person office like this with no croos talk between units.

But these new Keyboards, although perhaps the best keyboard i've ever used. DOES not allow you to mix and match different parts of the keyboard/mouse set - Very wasteful of money and landfill space for all the occasions when just part of the set fails for one of many reasons.

And HOW true that MS never seems to respond to this issue!    They could at least some up with some excuse that to ensure security and protect from hacking they have built each unit such that another can never listen in on the air traffic.  

Also now we are seeing the letter come off some of the more frequently used keyboards where the users use handcream.  And also some of the rubberised surface are failing where pressure is constantly exerted by the users in question - all very good product feedback - BUT MS does not say it listens.
