I've lost the USB transceiver for my wireless keyboard/mouse set, trying to find out where I can get a replacement for it without having to get a whole new keyboard & mouse just for that one transceiver.

Microsoft Natural Wireless Ergonomic Keyboard 7000

Transceiver says "Microsoft 2.4GHz Transceiver v2.0"

thanks!

I talked with Microsoft today and, yes, the person who answered stated that there are NO replacements for the receiver, and I would have to buy a new set up.  After asking to talk to someone who had some technical knowledge and getting no where, I asked for a supervisor.  I was on hold for several minutes, but I was not going to give up.  Finally a supervisor answered and after explaining that I knew something about computers, he offered to send me a whole new unit, free of charge.  And to top that off, he said he would expidite the order and it would ship to me in 1 - 3 days.

The number that I called is 800-360-7561, option 2.  Make sure that you ask to talk to a supervisor, as the people that answer haven't a clue.  They just read off of a script.  I hope that this helps someone out there.  Microsoft wants to keep their ccustomers and WILL do what it takes to keep them.

Have a great day.

My wife lost the told me she lost the USB receiver for her mouse, the first thing I did was to Google it. I found this thread and called the phone number (800-360-7561, option 2) the person that I first talked to told me that a replacement wasn't available and bla bla bla....... I cut her off and asked to speak to a supervisor 20 minutes on hold later and I spoke to Robin G who explained that while he couldn't send me a replacement receiver, he would be able to replace everything, all I have to do is return the mouse and keyboard and pay the postage. Once they get the old keyboard and mouse the replacement will be return shipped free of any additional charge. I feel like it was time well spent, 25 minutes in all. Thanks to Microsoft for the great customer support. Just do like the post from EStage says and you should get proper service, and don't forget to be polite and say thank you.

It's 2016 and my experience is same!

But I think the root cause is that the design of their USB plug is faulty.  It has a longer cantilever than its counterparts that is more likely to break.  So I'm not going to use it again even with a free replacement.

Hey dude, lucky you, you're one of few they are willing to replace receivers for.

Three phone calls being polite and asking if it was possible to buy a replacement receiver instead of the whole £60 mouse & receiver which I'm left with the mouse only and is useless without a receiver.

Seriously how hard can it be for a company like Micro$oft to sell replacement accessories for things like wireless mice and keyboards... Ridiculous!

So sad I'm having to bin a £60 mouse that I really liked.

Logitech from here on for my mice/keyboards since the customer support is what customer support should be.

Advise anyone against buying Microsoft hardware until they learn to do it RIGHT!

PS @ Microsoft *UNIFYING* usb receivers.. you may lose a little $$$ but you'll gain RESPECT!

They also will ask for a copy of your receipt.  If you have a copy of the receipt they offer replacement.  Otherwise they need to request an exception . . . 50/50.
