I've lost the USB transceiver for my wireless keyboard/mouse set, trying to find out where I can get a replacement for it without having to get a whole new keyboard & mouse just for that one transceiver.

Microsoft Natural Wireless Ergonomic Keyboard 7000

Transceiver says "Microsoft 2.4GHz Transceiver v2.0"

thanks!

I talked with Microsoft today and, yes, the person who answered stated that there are NO replacements for the receiver, and I would have to buy a new set up.  After asking to talk to someone who had some technical knowledge and getting no where, I asked for a supervisor.  I was on hold for several minutes, but I was not going to give up.  Finally a supervisor answered and after explaining that I knew something about computers, he offered to send me a whole new unit, free of charge.  And to top that off, he said he would expidite the order and it would ship to me in 1 - 3 days.

The number that I called is 800-360-7561, option 2.  Make sure that you ask to talk to a supervisor, as the people that answer haven't a clue.  They just read off of a script.  I hope that this helps someone out there.  Microsoft wants to keep their ccustomers and WILL do what it takes to keep them.

Have a great day.

I misplaced mine (initially thought it was lost) and could not function the next day.  I literally got no work done.

You have also not considered the fairly obvious reasons that the transceivers aren't interchangeable.  I'm  amazed that a person who depends on a computer for work didn't  have a spare keyboard; I think I have at least three here at home, and a USB keyboard can be hadfor very little money.

Calling did not work for me. Was told there's nothing they can do. I asked to talk with the a manager; was told the manager was on another call and had my phone number noted. I was placed on hold for like 10 minutes and then the call just ended.

I wanted to know where they let the consumer know that the receiver is not replaceable. I looked at the product page and could not find any information about the receiver not be replaceable.

I will not be buying any more Microsoft hardware.

Another one who hasn't thought about the possible consequences of transceivers being interchangeable.  While this problem has been overcome to some extent with more recent hardware, it isn't hard to imagine why the transceivers can't be interchanged.

It is rather unfortunate that a company generating billions of dollars would not consider their customers. Wait! We are a consuming society; sometimes consuming items we really do not need.  Unfortunately for those of us who rely on products to get our business and work life going and balance, we are often railroaded.

I misplaced mine (initially thought it was lost) and could not function the next day.  I literally got no work done. I immediately ordered one from Staples which actually cost me more than the 1st one. Go figure!

It is rather disappointing that they do not sell the USB's separate.  I am now mindful to always place the USB in the mouse if I need to take one of the keyboards with me when I travel.  I too will not purchase another one.  Looking to avoid companies that monopolize their products; holding customers hostage.

    Best Regards!
