I've lost the USB transceiver for my wireless keyboard/mouse set, trying to find out where I can get a replacement for it without having to get a whole new keyboard & mouse just for that one transceiver.

Microsoft Natural Wireless Ergonomic Keyboard 7000

Transceiver says "Microsoft 2.4GHz Transceiver v2.0"

thanks!

I talked with Microsoft today and, yes, the person who answered stated that there are NO replacements for the receiver, and I would have to buy a new set up.  After asking to talk to someone who had some technical knowledge and getting no where, I asked for a supervisor.  I was on hold for several minutes, but I was not going to give up.  Finally a supervisor answered and after explaining that I knew something about computers, he offered to send me a whole new unit, free of charge.  And to top that off, he said he would expidite the order and it would ship to me in 1 - 3 days.

The number that I called is 800-360-7561, option 2.  Make sure that you ask to talk to a supervisor, as the people that answer haven't a clue.  They just read off of a script.  I hope that this helps someone out there.  Microsoft wants to keep their ccustomers and WILL do what it takes to keep them.

Have a great day.

I have done the same. I just moved and in the process lost 2 usb dongles for my logitech devices. $14 to replace but an existing one i still worked just fine to sync up with the others.

    At least you have options.

I just purchased this keyboard and mouse combo in September, 2018.  Talked to Microsoft.com and they forwarded me to a Microsoft store but they do not do anything for you.  Have purchased a Logitec keyboard and separate blue tooth mouse.

Does anyone think that you can call that same phone number now and get them to send me a whole new keyboard and receiver for free?  I mean this message was asked about this was in 2014 - but with that question being asked over 5 years ago, I wonder if they might do this now.  I tried to get this question answered by someone working on microsoft.com within the last couple of days.  I just wonder if this same thing could actually happen today.

You were really fortunate.  I called to request a replacement usb and was told you must purchase whole set again.  Admitted that it was my fault and willing to pay for a replacement usb but no way.   With all the hype to save the environment and Microsoft have you pitch a perfectly good keyboard does not make any sense.  I agree should be a notice on the package when you buy letting you know.  Maybe have to start checking about and buying another brand.
