I've lost the USB transceiver for my wireless keyboard/mouse set, trying to find out where I can get a replacement for it without having to get a whole new keyboard & mouse just for that one transceiver.

Microsoft Natural Wireless Ergonomic Keyboard 7000

Transceiver says "Microsoft 2.4GHz Transceiver v2.0"

thanks!

I talked with Microsoft today and, yes, the person who answered stated that there are NO replacements for the receiver, and I would have to buy a new set up.  After asking to talk to someone who had some technical knowledge and getting no where, I asked for a supervisor.  I was on hold for several minutes, but I was not going to give up.  Finally a supervisor answered and after explaining that I knew something about computers, he offered to send me a whole new unit, free of charge.  And to top that off, he said he would expidite the order and it would ship to me in 1 - 3 days.

The number that I called is 800-360-7561, option 2.  Make sure that you ask to talk to a supervisor, as the people that answer haven't a clue.  They just read off of a script.  I hope that this helps someone out there.  Microsoft wants to keep their ccustomers and WILL do what it takes to keep them.

Have a great day.

YOu say they offer replacement with reciept, but does the purchave have to be in the warranty period, do used keyboards count ?

What I'm getting at is, if you can't buy a receiver to replace a defective one, one might conclude they send you one for free or a slight charge to keep customers wanting their keyboards , not someone else.

They also will ask for a copy of your receipt.  If you have a copy of the receipt they offer replacement.  Otherwise they need to request an exception . . . 50/50.

You are absolutely right, I can recall there was time I tried to search some of the MS products, I can’t able to find it since it required a serial number of the unit that I’m looking for. But in your case they didn’t consider the serial number instead  they’re more particular of having a receipt of purchase. It’s kinda frustrating transaction.

I believed Microsoft Company really trying to do some strategic way of developing their software and hardware environment.  In parallel to that they should have improve the customer service “after-sales service”, like provide a tracking system for the sold-out product from small item to big item. Somehow it gives to customer satisfaction and adhere customer to repeat purchase their cheaper products in future.

i have a 2000 series keyboard and mouse, i tried calling, i wouldn't mind buying a usb transceiver, but they said that they can not help me, because i do not have a receipt (very hard to keep paper work for three years), so the warranty that we are sold , and us not needing to register the product, is a little false sense of security,  they said they are sorry, but i would have to buy a whole new set(keyboard and mouse), so there is no use of having serial numbers if they cant track the product with that(as other products can without paperwork for even small products like flash drives), this is very disappointing as i assumed that Microsoft would offer better service than the other cheaper brands on the market, but they offer no replacement parts, so they are the same as buying a cheap product and just dispose of after a year or two, so much for there three year warranty.
