I HAVE A VISTA HOME PREMIUM COMPUTER. I UPGRADED THE JAVA TO 6U13. AFTER THE UPGRADE THE JAVA WOULDN'T WORK. I CALLED HP AND IT WAS DECIDED TO RESTORE THE COMP TO THE ORIGIONAL STATE WHEN BOUGHT AND WAS TOLD TO REDOWNLOAD JAVA, BUT FIRST I DID ALL THE WINDOWS UPDATES FIRST. THEN DOWNLOADED THE JAVA AND STILL DIDN'T WORK. UNINSTALLED AND DOWNLOADED AN EARLIER VERSION STILL DIDN'T WORK. THROUGH TRIAL AND ERROR I DISCOVERED THAT THE JAVA ICON WAS NOT IN THE INTERNET OPTIONS ON THE ADVANCED TAB. CALLED HP BACK AGAIN AND THEY WENT THROUGH THE SECURITY WITH ME AND TOLD ME TO REDOWNLOAD IT AGAIN AND THAT SHOULD FIX THE PROBLEM. I WENT TO JAVA .COM FOR THE DOWNLOAD. CHECKED THE VIRTUAL MACHINE AND THE MAN DANCED SAID IT WAS WORKING PROPERLY. i FOUND THE 6U13 IN THE CONTROL PANEL AND IN THE ADD REMOVE PROGRAMS. I WAS TOLD TO GO TO THE START AND TYPE IN JAVA. THE RESULTS WAS NO ITEMS FOUND. THEN WAS TOLD THAT IT DOWNLOADED TO THE COMP BUT DIDN'T KNOW WHERE. IT MUST HAVE NOT DOWNLOADED TO C DRIVE. ALSO WHEN THE COMP WAS RECOVERED EVEN THOUGH I HAD THR DISC TO THE PRINTER IT SAID IT WASN'T COMPATABLE HAD TO GO AND DOWNLOAD THE DRIVER OFF THE INTERNET TO GET IT TO WORK. ALSO ONCE THE JAVA WAS LOADED IT SAID IT WASN'T COMPATABLE THATS WHY I WENT TO AN EARLIER VERSION. I WOULD APPRECIATE ANY HELP WITH THIS PROBLEM. I WOULD LIKE TO ADD THAT THE INTERNET PROVIDER IS AOL. THANK YOU

I don't know how to provide the link. All I can tell you is that when you go to pogo I can go to the main page and click on a game. Then when you click on the game you want to play it starts loading and never loads then it goes black. the java icon is not on the bar at the bottom as being running at this time either. I don't know if i'm giving enough info or i just don't know what i'm looking at. Thank you for your help and please let me know if you can figure this out for me. I wish I had never went to vista it is so confusing.
I am having exactly the same experience as the original poster. The problem with Java not showing up under the advanced tab of internet options is that the Java site instructs us to go to this to fix a problem. While other solutions are proposed here, they are simply other solutions proposed by java; presumably (and according to Java) all of the listed issues have to be in order for Java to work. I have not been able to find a way to address the problem I am having, and was thrilled to see this thread, until I read it and felt as if it were me. According to Java we NEED it to show up under internet options in order to use the solution they propose. Ack.
To the original poster: If I find a solution I will come back and let you know. Please make a post if you figure it out. At the very least maybe someone else who understands the problem and has solved it will stumble across this thread.

If that does not make it work, you need to contact Pogo and find out what to do next. More than likely it will come down to a security issue. I.e. You system is too secure to allow Pogo to run. I would not consider that a problem! ;-)

I have windows XP sp3, IE8 but am having similar problems.
As others on these threads have mentioned, Pogo games said I needed to update my Java to play. I updated to 6 update 13. Did not work. I read you should uninstall all previous versions except 6 update 13 so removed them all. That did not work. I then did a system restore but during the restore my computer crashed. When I restarted I had what I call ghost files of all the previous Java versions in my add/remove programs list. I was unable to uninstall them. So I reinstalled 6 update 13 but I still could not play. So I then tried the MS program that gets rid of unwanted leftover items in add/remove programs and it did remove them from there but it also removed the contents from my Java Folder in the Control Panel so now I can't even try to enable Java and Java no longer shows in my advanced tab. I tried restoring to before I used that program but it did not put back the contents. I have tried removing 6 update 13 but it shows it cannot find the path to the installation package jre1.6.0_10-c.msi. Installing 6 update 10 did not help. Installing any versions doesn't help.
I don't know what I can do to restore my Java folder or fix Java period. Reinstalling hasn't worked and I can't uninstall. Please help.
