I HAVE A VISTA HOME PREMIUM COMPUTER. I UPGRADED THE JAVA TO 6U13. AFTER THE UPGRADE THE JAVA WOULDN'T WORK. I CALLED HP AND IT WAS DECIDED TO RESTORE THE COMP TO THE ORIGIONAL STATE WHEN BOUGHT AND WAS TOLD TO REDOWNLOAD JAVA, BUT FIRST I DID ALL THE WINDOWS UPDATES FIRST. THEN DOWNLOADED THE JAVA AND STILL DIDN'T WORK. UNINSTALLED AND DOWNLOADED AN EARLIER VERSION STILL DIDN'T WORK. THROUGH TRIAL AND ERROR I DISCOVERED THAT THE JAVA ICON WAS NOT IN THE INTERNET OPTIONS ON THE ADVANCED TAB. CALLED HP BACK AGAIN AND THEY WENT THROUGH THE SECURITY WITH ME AND TOLD ME TO REDOWNLOAD IT AGAIN AND THAT SHOULD FIX THE PROBLEM. I WENT TO JAVA .COM FOR THE DOWNLOAD. CHECKED THE VIRTUAL MACHINE AND THE MAN DANCED SAID IT WAS WORKING PROPERLY. i FOUND THE 6U13 IN THE CONTROL PANEL AND IN THE ADD REMOVE PROGRAMS. I WAS TOLD TO GO TO THE START AND TYPE IN JAVA. THE RESULTS WAS NO ITEMS FOUND. THEN WAS TOLD THAT IT DOWNLOADED TO THE COMP BUT DIDN'T KNOW WHERE. IT MUST HAVE NOT DOWNLOADED TO C DRIVE. ALSO WHEN THE COMP WAS RECOVERED EVEN THOUGH I HAD THR DISC TO THE PRINTER IT SAID IT WASN'T COMPATABLE HAD TO GO AND DOWNLOAD THE DRIVER OFF THE INTERNET TO GET IT TO WORK. ALSO ONCE THE JAVA WAS LOADED IT SAID IT WASN'T COMPATABLE THATS WHY I WENT TO AN EARLIER VERSION. I WOULD APPRECIATE ANY HELP WITH THIS PROBLEM. I WOULD LIKE TO ADD THAT THE INTERNET PROVIDER IS AOL. THANK YOU

I have given up on trying to use Vista, IE7 to get into pogo. Pogo was super enough to give me an extra 6 months of service at no charge. They also removed the option of charging my account automatically. So I just go to Mozilla firefox and everything works great. If anyone does discover the problem, with using vista, then please include me with the feedback. Note: I have tried using IE8 but have been told that there's an awful lot of bugs in that system that needs fixing so I removed it and went back to IE7.
FWIW, a nunber of the Tube sites have recently put up banners indicating that video streaming is now broken in IE8 as a result of a "recent Microsoft update" and that folks should use either an older version of IE8 or a different browser (Firefox, Chrome, etc.) for the time being until the issue is resolved.

Well, the thread is over 4 months old and still more people are experiencing the same issue. Let me join the club. I recently went from win98 to vista home premium and voila, it didn't take long to experience what I had heard all too often about vista. I share this particular issue with eveyone as well. I first noticed at Yahoo games when suddenly I was no longer able to play certain games. Yahoo customer support was kind enough to walk me through all the processes I had already went through more than once. I am pretty sure that installing a program was what brought it on, and I have since un-installed some of them. But I don't know which one it might have been. I also uninstalled java and re-installed it. I can now play games again on yahoo, but------still no sun in the advanced tab of internet options. And another quirk has emerged. When I try to view a video on youtube I get this:

Well, I got the latest flashplayer as there was none on my system (?). It is still installed (?) and I still get this message. I followed some instructions like remove with adobe's tool ....etc. Did all that. Also went to one particular file to have it run as admin. They all said where this file should be but on my system it installed itself in a different file. Instead of in the system32 folder the whole macro folder is in the syswow64 folder (no doubt cause my system is 64bit). So ..........congratulations once again to u no hoo for making it all so very nice and confusing. Maybe someone else has come across this and has found a solution !!!???
I have the very same issue. I have had pogo.com help trying their best to get it resolved to no avail. The issue keeps coming back to java not being listed under the advanced tab in the tools section. I have tried everything that has been suggested but it doesn't work. I just don't understand why pogo.com works when you go in under the Mozilla firefox. I can sign in to pogo.com/help but not into the game room. It keeps saying I have my cookies disabled, when I don't. I sure wish that someone out there knows some answers.
