Disable Hover Feature

Does anyone know how to disable not delay the hover feature for Window 7.  There are a lot anwsers but no resolution.   I've tried them all...  Did windows drop the ball, again.  This is actually my second time writing this questions within the last 5 minutes.  The hover feature closed my previous window which had more details.  Please help.  Windows, this feature was a bad idea, especially when you don't give the option to disable it.

    The hover "feature" does this: when you hover the cursor over something for some period of time, the system assumes you want to click on it, and does. You did not click, but you hovered for long enough for Win7 to think you must have wanted to. It assumes a purpose to your pausing where none may exist. You may have just paused to, say, read something, decide something, or think about something... and your computer charges on, taking that pause as a signal to go, go, go.

    Imagine if life worked that way. Careful what you stare at. Keep your eyes moving. Always moving.

    It's another example of the system "outsmarting" you in a possibly stupid way. Win7 is just trying to be helpful, but it makes a click decision FOR you that you may not intend. Saving you all the bother of actually clicking, I guess.

    THANK YOU!!!!! This was driving me crazy, because mouse of the searches contained "hover to select window". What happened to me, I was trying to change the folder options to show hidden folders and some how must have enabled this options. I was going out of my mind!!!!

    Hello sheilasay:

    On my version of Windows 7 Professional, there is an item called "Make it easier to manage windows" at the bottom of the page under which there's a checkbox for "Activate a window by hovering over it with the mouse".

    If that's not there in yours, it occurs to me that your OS *may* have become corrupted, in which case looking up and trying a Windows Repair link *might* Fix It.

    The boxes are not checked but I still have the ever so irritating hover feature active on my laptop when it is not docked. It is NOT on when I am at the office but on when I have the laptop undocked at home. Any other ideas?
