Disable Hover Feature

I have bought hp pavilionx2 tablet and cannot disable hover pointer

Have tried solution suggested but didnt work for me

is this the same prob I have? here is my post. iv been trying for years to find a fix!!

this problem is with ALL windows. where ever the curser/pointer rests if it is on any thing. it makes it do what ever pointer rests on, like if I'm looking around a web page/ site and my pointer just goes over ( with out stopping on it, just brushes over the box ) the drop down menu will open and it will open covering what I wanted to look at so I have to move the pointer OFF the object and left click the mouse on an open spot where there are no objects to select to close the drop down menu. this problem s on XP/VISTA/7/8/AND 10. I do not want anything to happen when the pointer touches anything unless I click on it!

Er... I was commenting on my ignorance, not yours, and was requesting more details about the feature you were inquiring about.  Can you elaborate on what you are referring to as the "hover feature"?

With Windows 10 Microsoft has introduced yet another "feature" in which by default if you allow your mouse to"hover over" a hyperlink, it will helpfully "click" said hyperlink for you. Or to put it another way, each time you want to stop moving your mouse, you have to first ensure you have moved the cursor to a safe "parking zone", or the frigging OS will start clicking for you.

Since the Control Panel option to turn off this "feature" does not work (at least, it hasn't worked for any of the thousands of people who have reported that it does not work), this should become the greatest boon to those who want to download malware to our machines since the invention of the modem. Social engineering is no longer necessary! MS has introduced auto-malware-downloads.

The boxes are not checked but I still have the ever so irritating hover feature active on my laptop when it is not docked. It is NOT on when I am at the office but on when I have the laptop undocked at home. Any other ideas?
