ok guys i havent read threw all of these but i know that none of them worked for me because ive read endless pages of **** forum post.
i unfortunatly already had a Motionjoy Software installed which was interfering with the official microsoft drivers.
you need to go into the driver manager (right click my computer and properties )and open the xbox tab and just uninstall any drivers related to a 360 controller.
now unplug and replug your wireless receiver and you should see 'Microsoft Common Controller For Windows Class' and a subtab of 'Xbox 360 Wireless Receiver for windows'. this driver should install automatically via the usb device. plug and play slogan wasnt
given to the technology for no reason 'derp' ;d
now you can just pair the receiver and the controller up. the light on the 360 pad should be solid and usually in the 1st position. enjoy teh gaming =)
i really hope this will help some guys and girls who have been typing in circles on google looking for the answer just getting rubbish off topic ****.
Spread the love,
leeonical.
p.s. if you are using a wired 360 controller and its freezing your game its because of 2 things. more than one software or drivers are crossing and causing your game to freak out. OR. its because the triggers are programmed along the same Axis e.g. the Z axis,
when a trigger is held is positive and then when the other is held its negetive. both at the same time is either both or none. the game freaks out again and just crashes. the second is what happend to me so i bought the wireless receiver for £15 =D
