Hello, im having a problem with a xbox 360 wireless receiver on my windows 7 64bit, i installed the software that came with the receiver and it installed fine but when i went to connect the controller with the receiver it doesnt work, i've tried it dozens of times and i have rang microsoft for help but they werent too sure. Its a official controller which came with an xbox360 and the receiver isnt microsoft but i was told from the microsoft people that some receivers are made outside of microsoft but are still fine. I'm wondering if there is a specific windows 7 receiver driver for it?

thanks

james

hey thanks i got it to work! so relieved. heres how you do it:

Right click on Computer

Go to Properties

Click on Device Manager

Right click on the Unidentified Device

Go to Properties

Go to the Drive tab

Click on Update Driver…

Browse my computer for driver software

Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer

Microsoft Common Controller for Window Class

Xbox 360 Wireless Receiver for Windows Version: 2.1.0.1349 [8/13/2009]

Update Driver Warning

Click Yes

i cant believe it was that simple, you dont need to download any seperate driver or anything, just follow the steps.

thanks

    Hi,

I already did the driver manual install and the controller synced and was working perfectly.

Then I had the great idea to sync it to my xbox360 again...

After that I can`t get it to sync to the wireless receiver again...

After plugging with the charge kit it ended up unsyncing from xbox, but when I try to sync with the receiver the led keeps moving and the receiver blinking, but they dont sync up....

    Any ideas?

PS:I tried unstalling drivers and software and doing it again but it didnt work...

Does anyone know how to get this to work on XP? Microsoft Common Controller for Window Class ins't there. I've tried everything and can not get it to work on XP. Have the "Xbox 360 Wireless Receiver for Windows" installed and I have some HID-compliant device and USB Human Interface Device. I have tried to follow the instructions everyone is using but they only work for Windows 7. I also can't get the controller to connect, it just flashes all lights.
