My taskbar keeps disappearing randomly and will not come back until I restart.  Once I restart the taskbar comes back and then disappears again. I have looked at the other solutions from people having similar problems and the solutions do not work.

open Task Manager (Ctrl+Alt+Del, click Task Manager)

Click on File>New Task (Run) and enter "explorer.exe" (without the quotes)

Then click OK.

Does it come back?

I just want to know if anybody out there has really figured this thing out, I have tried everything mentioned above and nothing is working, I think I may start thinking about a MAC, too many problems like this have risen from Windows, just go back to XP windows, everyone was happy with that OS.

I am having the same trouble.  I use the auto hide feature but usually once or twice a day the task bar disappears.  Re booting seems the only fix for me.

I have been using windows 7 since Jan. and this problem seems to be getting worse.  Any fixes that work yet?

I'm having the same problem!  I've had windows 7 for about 7 months and this just started.  I did the "taskbar" fix, stop the explorer.exe process and then enter explorer in the new task field.  That worked, but it disappears after going to sleep, etc.  Where's the fix, Windows?!  This is ridiculous!  Very irritating that you don't see anything full screen and can't do anything about it!
