My taskbar keeps disappearing randomly and will not come back until I restart.  Once I restart the taskbar comes back and then disappears again. I have looked at the other solutions from people having similar problems and the solutions do not work.

open Task Manager (Ctrl+Alt+Del, click Task Manager)

Click on File>New Task (Run) and enter "explorer.exe" (without the quotes)

Then click OK.

Does it come back?

I have the same trouble as stated above.  I don't have auto-hide set to on.  I tried the task manager trick also it doesn't work either.  I have to re-boot to get it to come back.  Just started doing this in the last week or so.  I have never had this problem before.  Is it something to do with an update?

Thanks to someone on this blog, I found a temporary solution: Ctrl-Alt-Del to open Task Manager - under the Processes tab select explorer.exe - click End Process - Do Not Close this window - under the File menu click New Task (Run); the explorer.exe file should automatically appear in the box - click OK to restore explorer.exe - in 1-2 seconds the taskbar should reappear on the desktop.  At first I needed to do this 3-5 times a day, but I haven't had to perform this trick for about 10 days.  Maybe Microsoft fixed it.  I hope so.

I am hoping for a permanent solution from Microsoft.

I have this problem as well as everyone else...

***Wondering - which version of Window 7 do you have?***

I have the Home Premium version and was thinking about upgrading to see if the problem would go away...
