My taskbar keeps disappearing randomly and will not come back until I restart. Once I restart the taskbar comes back and then disappears again. I have looked at the other solutions from people having similar problems and the solutions do not work.

open Task Manager (Ctrl+Alt+Del, click Task Manager)
Click on File>New Task (Run) and enter "explorer.exe" (without the quotes)
Then click OK.
Does it come back?

Finally found an easy solution for this!
I too have tried most of the solutions that people have suggested and nothing worked. I have since changed 2 settings and I believe it's solved the problem finally after many months! I changed the settings about 2 weeks ago and so far so good: no disappearing taskbar. Go to Control Panel/ Hardware and Sound/ Power Options/ Choose when to turn off Display AND when computer sleeps- change BOTH of these to Never and save. Now when I'm done with computer I just manually turn the screen off with the button. Hope this helps you too. It's such a relief not to have this bothersome problem anymore (knock on wood).

I waited 2 years to get Win7 for MS to get rid of the bugs and in past month with new machine, nothing but nightmares. Here's one bug they aren't even trying to fix! I have a good idea the cause, but they can PAY ME to talk, they have cost me so much.

Catherine, create a plain text file on your desktop. Name it something like "findTASKBAR.txt". If you have file extensions hidden, you maybe should use Notepad. Cut and paste the 3 lines Opus13 wrote, above, into the open new text document and then save.
After it's on your desktop, you need to change the file extension from .txt to .bat, so it will execute. Then all you have to do is double click it to bring back your taskbar when it disappears!
Thanks, this got the Start bar back, but will it keep happening? What causes it to happen, I've been running the computer for 3 yrs with no problem. Did I do something?
I went to control panel and just clicked preview for screensaver. It came back immediately.
