My taskbar keeps disappearing randomly and will not come back until I restart. Once I restart the taskbar comes back and then disappears again. I have looked at the other solutions from people having similar problems and the solutions do not work.

open Task Manager (Ctrl+Alt+Del, click Task Manager)
Click on File>New Task (Run) and enter "explorer.exe" (without the quotes)
Then click OK.
Does it come back?

I am having the same trouble. I use the auto hide feature but usually once or twice a day the task bar disappears. Re booting seems the only fix for me.
I have been using windows 7 since Jan. and this problem seems to be getting worse. Any fixes that work yet?
I'm having the same problem! I've had windows 7 for about 7 months and this just started. I did the "taskbar" fix, stop the explorer.exe process and then enter explorer in the new task field. That worked, but it disappears after going to sleep, etc. Where's the fix, Windows?! This is ridiculous! Very irritating that you don't see anything full screen and can't do anything about it!
I have the same problem, only re-boot works... C'moon Windows guys fix that!
OK folks. I just found an interesting issue that may help others in this. LOL..I found it completely on accident. So when I was trying to locate a window I opened without the task bar at the bottom, I noticed that there was a slight gray shadow on the far right edge of my screen. When I went over and clicked and dragged it, it was the window I was looking for. It's position was lower right. So I moved my mouse way off screen and way low and clicked and it opened something that had been on my task bar. It was like fishing for the dang thing but.,,,I did it again and clicked and held and dragged and lo and behold, there was my task bar. Now I never moved this on my own (Yes I'm positive!) and it absolutely was caused by the computer going into sleep mode but it was'nt missing, it just moved the thing completely off screen. So if yours is missing, try looking way off screen for it. Everyones fixes were accurate and I thank you all for taking the time to asnwer this. I think if you dont let it go into sleep mode once you get it back, the problem will be resolved at least until they fix the actual problem that causes this issue.
