Is there anyway to purchase a replacement Microsoft 2.4 Ghz Transceiver that works with a Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse 6000 v2 AND a Microsoft Wireless Keyboard 6000 v3?

I guess the actual answer to your question was "tough - you will have to buy a new mouse". I have the same issue with the same transceiver and as far as I can see it is not possible to buy the thing separately! As I have a mouse and keyboard combo it is a real problem! Did you find anywhere to puchase a separate unit?
Try calling MS support if you haven't called in on this issue, they will offer you 90 days of free support and may replace the transceiver
At my work we bought a bunch of the wireless mouse 6000 and a few notebook 7000 versions about a year ago. I liked the 6000 so much that I bought one for home too. So far two of the transceivers at work stop working after a few minutes and the same thing happened to the one at home. Its like they heat up and the electronics fail. The mice with the broken transceivers work fine with working transceivers so its easy to pinpoint the issue.
I have always loved the Microsoft line, due to ergonomic reasons, but this is just poor engineering. If the only option is to buy a replacement mouse it will certainly not have the Microsoft brand on it.
I just talked to the Microsoft store and they said that each of these transceivers are unique and it is not cost effective for them to make new ones for the customers. They do not sell replacements. They told me they could give me the cost of a new keyboard and mouse. It was higher than I could have bought it 3 years ago. If there is nothing wrong with my keyboard and mouse why buy another? So in other words, we are just SOL. Microsoft should have said this at the time of purchase. Another example of Microsoft in action.
