Transceiver 2.4 Ghz Replacement

The long and short and final answer. Each receiver (dongle) is unique and paired at the factory. If you have a spare receiver, throw it away. It is worthless. If your keyboard receiver fails yet your keyboard is still good, throw away the keyboard. It is worthless. YOU can do NOTHING to get a keyboard and a receiver to work together unless you know how to pair an item designed to prevent pairing. This is a simple Microsoft ploy to 1) keep you from fixing a perfectly good keyboard and force you into buying another one 2)they probably own key stock in Waste Management so they hope you have to junk good stuff, just so they can be just a bit sociopathic in their treatment of customers.

My advice, as a Microsoft Partner is to avoid microsoft mice and keyboards and chose an acceptable Logitech product. Logitech took the alternate approach and makes not only replacements, but upgrades to nano receivers. This proves the absolute lack of necessity in pairing the Microsoft products at the factory. It exposes Microsoft's policy as one purely designed to create more junk and more purchases. If you are faced with this, buy from the company who displays a little more empathy to their customers and a little less empathy for their own bottom line.

Sad because I like Microsoft products, but being an honest Microsoft Partner, I cannot recommend buying something designed to force you into another purchase due to either a failure or the loss of the receiver. There is NO technological reason for this decision; it is a decision made by an MBA who wants to sell more product rather than take care of existing customers. Do no reward the sociopathic business model by giving them your money. I do not say avoid all Microsoft products, just their unrepairable garbage, because no matter how you look at it, you will eventually only own a piece of landfill rather than a functioning product. Perhaps enough rejection will cause a reconsideration of their "policy".

does this Transceiver hangs up the mouse time to time for some seconds if not installed?

Cuz i am having this Issue, I also do have Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse 6000 v2.0, and in windows 7 when i plug it in, it installs everything except Microsoft 2.4Ghz Transceiver v2.0.

Please guide me how do i install this, I have also searched but didnt find the driver i m looking for.

I guess the actual answer to your question was "tough - you will have to buy a new mouse".  I have the same issue with the same transceiver and as far as I can see it is not possible to buy the thing separately!  As I have a mouse and keyboard combo it is a real problem!  Did you find anywhere to puchase a separate unit?

I own a Mouse/Keyboard wireless combo and suddenly the transceiver stopped working.

I called Microsoft Colombia (that's where I live) and to my surprise they told me I was going to get a new combo free of charge from Costumer Service.

I guess not everything about MS is plain selling stuff.

This is false information. I have two sets of the Microsoft Natural Ergonomic Desktop 7000 Keyboard & mouse and I have successfully paired one with the receiver of the other. It's actually quite easy. You just hold down the little pairing button on the keyboard or mouse at the same time you hold it down on the receiver.

I do believe, however, that these receivers are unique to Microsoft's wireless keyboards. I'm hoping that maybe the close cousin, the Microsoft Wireless Rechargeable Laser Mouse 7000, may happen to be cross compatible and have ordered one with the intention of testing it. I don't have any certainty whether it will work though.

In any case, I still share the frustration of all who have posted here. There's an awful lot of people that have lost the use of their otherwise good keyboard and mouse simply because they lost the receivers. If Microsoft could have just picked a more standard receiver or purposefully produced more receivers than keyboards & mice, they could have prevented this. If nothing else, for customer satisfaction it seems like it might be worth it to make some more, but I guess it could be expensive at this point.
