Typing Issues (Jumping cursor...moves my text to another line while typing)

Someone please help with this Issue!!!  Everytime I type my cursor jumps around and I have to keep going back and deleting and retyping.  Please help

Hi Tim,

Are you using a laptop by chance?  If so, you can resolve this issue by taking a look at your touchpad options.  If you're using Windows 7, click the Start button, type Mouse in the search field, and click Enter.  There should be an option to change the Device Settings for the TouchPad.  On many models, Synaptics is the maker of the TouchPad and has a Tab of its own in the Mouse properties.  If you don't see these settings, you'll need to install the drivers from your manufacturers website. 

For Dell machines, you can go to support.dell.com.  Select your model and you'll find the driver under Input Device Drivers.  For Compaq/HP machines, go to support.hp.com, select your model and find Keyboard, Mouse and Input devices.

I like to disable the Tap option and raise the PalmCheck sensitivity option.   These are the first options I always change when I get a new laptop; otherwise I have the very same problem.

    I have the same problem as Tim's except that it occurs only with 'Y' and 'T' characters, upper and lowercase. I am using an external mouse, hence rarely use the touchpad. Have been grappling with problem ever since Windows updates were done and am inclined to believe Gabby Jim's suggestion. It's been almost a year and Windows support have not been able to resolve my problem. Its are real pain especially when typing out lengthy documents with time constraints.

    Anyone out there who can throw me a lifeline?

    I have a windows xp laptop which has never had this problem......now I have 2 windows 7, Sony and Toshiba and both have this problem out of the box.  It doesn't happen if you use the 2 finger typing method, but that can only last about 30 seconds for me.  I am so frustrated.  If I want to type something I have to use one of my old computers!

    Me Too!!! Very frustrating and is almost as catastrophic as crashing before saving.

    I tried installing Synaptic mouse drivers to no avail. You may, however, turn off the touchpad (and use a different mouse) by unchecking the box at Control Panel>VAIO Control Center>Pointing Device.

    I have the same problem. I unchecked the boxes and it seems to be better other than the mouse is not moving as well.
