Setting default line spacing in Wordpad

Hello,

I have noticed an extremely annoying trait in the Windows 7 version of Word Pad. The Default line spacingis set to 1.15 and "add 10pt after paragraphs".

I would like to change the Default line spacing to 1.0 and "No 10 pt space after paragraphs".  is this possible with a registry hack?

I realize this is silly, but it really is annoying.

I found a really simple trick to bypass this really annoying trait.

I create a simple Wordpad document with the desired settings I want (including fixing the spacing).

I then delete every character, save one ( If you delete the last one Wordpad will default back to

Cambria - 11pt).

Now save this document as 'Document.rtf' or whatever name you want and to any directory you want.

Create a shortcut on your desktop to this file.  Then rename the shortcut Wordpad.

Now whenever you open Wordpad thru this link you will have it open and ready to go with all your settings!

There will be of course one character there, but I start all my Wordpad encounters with copying & pasting

so I never notice it.

I realize this fix might not be what everyone wants, but for anyone who just opens Wordpad from their

desktop like me and many others it is a extremely simple fix to a most annoying problem.

I am afraid t o inform that this is by design in Windows 7 and you will not be able to change it.

    I've built five computers. I bought Windows 7 Professional for all five and used the Microsoft thirty day free support.. I called about three different issues and Microsoft technicians claimed ignorance for two of the issues. The volunteers manning this site's technical advice have been extremely supportive of Microsoft and all of its mistakes. Instead of giving me an answer to my question they have been very defensive and have accused me of "...laying all of the world's problems at Microsoft's door."  I am suprised that "Shekar S" did not fire a volley of retaliation. But here we are spending huge sums of money to acquire ONE Microsoft Windows 7 Professional dvd which has new issues which are, as "Paul" said, "really...annoying". Thank you for the advice that once again Microsoft does not care to offer. And by the way, does anyone know how to disable Windows 7 's insistence on changing WordPad and Notepad when changing the settings of ONE WordPad and Notepad? For example, I use Notepad three times to write three different letters. Then I open Notepad a fourth time and write a fourth letter but on this particular letter I change the font. When I go back and open the three previously written letters using Notepad, the font has been reset to the font of the fourth letter using Notepad. The same thing happens with WordPad. This has never happened in the previous versions of Windows. Thank you for any advice that you may put forth.
