Blue screen with this error code: KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR, STOP: 0x0000007A

Hi to everyone. 

I have Intel DP35DP for 4 years and a lot of trouble all the time,

and same BSOD after I changed HDD to SSD two days ago.

My previous setups from beginnig:

1)

4x Seagate 500GB (the problemation ones) in

Matrix RAID 0 + 5. Raid0 for sistem drive, Raid5 for data

=> good for a year than all problems... a lot of time one or more drives were just missing and data was rebuilt or gone.

2)

5x WD640AAKS (blue)

2x RAID0 for system and 3x RAID5 for data

=> one year ok, than all problems, like drive missing uppon restart, or cold boot, etc.. One drive also failed at the latest.

3)

2x WD750 RAID for RAID0

3x WD640AAKS (same old drives unchanged raid5)

1x SATA drive on 6th sata port.

=> again missing drive at some star-up or restarts.

=> I replaced all 3 years SATA and POWER CABLES!!! (I replaced PSU several times also before)

=> NO PROBLEM with restarting hard resseting, booting, wake-up, or anything.

4)

I replaced single SATA drive with SSD and cloned WINDOWS instalation (system C) to SSD.

Everything FINE, but BSOD after wake up from sleep.

If I reset PC with reset buttong, THERE IS NO SSD wisible in BIOS.

If I power down PC, than turn on, SSD is again there and PC work fine. +initializing (or rebulding) od RAID5 (for 12+ hours).

I changed sata cable, power cable... it is not the case. again BSOD as soon as I try to wake PC up.

It must be drivers, or something. I still have HDD system partition, and no problem if I try sleep from that. Just from SSD. Since I have tons of work to be done, I'm not prepared to wait again 12+ hours for rebuild, nor the loosing data oportunity (I already trashed 1,5TB partition last year and had a month of time to collect and put together all data).

I'll just not touch sleep anymoore. I need some speed, so I put SSD in. Anyway I hardly wait new PC, but not until I finish work on this (long movie I edit), than I could empty all HDD's and toss thisgood/bad motherbord for ever.

Whole system:

• Q9550
• 8GB Adata G800+ ram
• BD liteon
• enermax 650W
• 8600GT
• tons of quiet fans and noise mats inside case
• WIN7 64 Homepremium
• 2x dell IPS LCD.

Regardless it is a lot of options what could be worng, but this motherboard is very sensitive to that kind of problems. I own company who builds computers and with that MB was a lot of problems from quite some of customers, especialy with RAID configuration. most of them are already upgraded their PC's to something newer. I'm probably the only one who sits on that old horse :(

I was wrong......

The CHKDSK C: /F /R command did not fixed the problem in my cause although the computer desktop was up and running for a while without any STOP error.

But at last it happened. I put the computer in the hibernate state overnight. In the morning the computer was dead and the screen was turned off, I could not see any message on the screen and could not wake up the screen to display its content.

I may assume that the KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR with STOP code 0x0000007A has occured again, but the computer behavior is now different. Before the repair action with CHKDSK /F /R I could make a cold restart by turning power off and on again - now even the cold restart fails and there is no HDD present anymore, the BIOS setup shows that no HDD is present. The lack should indicate a cable problem, but I do not think it is the cause here, however, further analysis will be performed. The HDD should be intact - I haven't seen any indications concerning defectives on the HDD.

However, the try to repair using the CHKDSK made things worser and the defectives indicate that a serious BIOS problem has occured, maybe caused by a virus infection?

So let's see how the story will continue ....

Thank you very much for an excellent, interesting and detailed problem description with lots of howtos!

I also ran into the KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR STOP 0x0000007A error with DUMP FAIL 0x00000010 (no HDD present) problem.

My assumption is that the problem occured because I had tested a thirdparty software during a 30-day trial period and did not wanted to pay for it when the trial period expired. I preferred to uninstall the software and got thus possibly "punished" with this problem killing access to my HDD (not a cable problem).

I've tried the CHKDSK /F /R solution and it seems to have solved the problem as the problem appeared relatively quickly after a cold restart (warm restart only gave the diagnostic message NO BOOT DEVICE).

Sorry to have to say that I haven't saved the parameters and thus I am not fully aware about the indications about the cause nature. Of course, it could be malware still remaining in computer or only a bad stamp put on the HDD giving this STOP error in my cause

• but your generalised advice about actions seem to have worked fine!

you cant do checkdisk on a ssd and im having the same BOSD as the others here and im runing SSD's.

for thge past 3 weeks ive had so mutch problem im about to )(&?(&(/ hdd's ( ssd's ) been returned, ram returned and the next is my mobo. errors all over the place.

new sata cables, all drivers to every thing up to date, bios up to date, win updates up to date,++++++++++++++

im loosing patient.....
