Problem connecting to the Windows Error Reporting service

Whenever I try to check for solutions in the action center of Windows 7, I get the following error message: Problem connecting to the Windows Error Reporting service. Some of the reports could not be uploaded to the Windows Error Reporting service. Please try again later.

This issue started appearing a few days ago, even though I didn't make any changes in my computer. I don't have any firewall (except for the default Windows firewall) and all my other programs work just fine on the Internet.

Any ideas what might cause the issue?

Problem solved.

I actually had to purge all the existing reports using the Disk Cleanup utility.

I gave up and sent my laptop to repair shop. Too many issues like this with complicated solutions that don't work.

It's not worth sending in your laptop for repair. It has been proven that this is a bug in Windows; or maybe Microsoft just wants it that way. I think they decided that they don't want everyone's memory dumps for either space or privacy reasons; those are the uploads that fail.

Read my March 20, 2014 post above. I debugged the problem with Fiddler, a packet sniffer.

It's not worth worrying about fixing. It is basically a worthless feature.

Hello Amrita M, it has been six years and people still have the same issue.. where have you been?

Right now I have 36 occurrences of a video card issue crashing to a black screen and recovering a few seconds later. Toshiba could not care less, NIVIDIA has new drivers but not for my equipment.

Microsoft wants me to report the issues and is asking for more information, which I am totally willing to send. BUT it does not get through, ever, ever, ever.

Help!!!!!!!!!! pretty please...

Microsoft is never going to look at this post again. It has been marked Answered.

Don't worry about fixing this problem; it is a useless feature.

Whoa.... I just experienced a major breakthrough. Windows actually responded "No new solutions found", and something like they will appear in the Action Center if they become available.

I will still have the same issues with my NVIDIA card going MIA for a few seconds, but at least I can report the issue and receive the precious information that nothing has been done about it.

Again, whoa.

The issues with the Video card resetting and you getting a black screen is because the TDR (Time Delay Response) is bugged all to hell. This has been an existing issue since it was introduced in Vista. Millions of Windows Users have complained to Microsoft over the years and even with Windows 10 its still occurring.

The solution to fix this issue is most likely that Microsoft has to start working with the video card manufacturers to find a solution to this event. Im going to guess this has never happened either because of pride or stupidity.

Now worst case is the reason the issue still exists is Microsoft doesnt know how to fix it doesnt want to... or they just dont care that the Operation systems they release are not compatible with the drivers from the Video Cards.

Or most imaginable they dont care about what we want fixed...

Either way it hasnt been fixed since Vista so dont expect a fix.

Clear the logs, and live with the interrupts or switch to Linux and never have the errors again.
