Problem connecting to the Windows Error Reporting service

Whenever I try to check for solutions in the action center of Windows 7, I get the following error message: Problem connecting to the Windows Error Reporting service. Some of the reports could not be uploaded to the Windows Error Reporting service. Please try again later.

This issue started appearing a few days ago, even though I didn't make any changes in my computer. I don't have any firewall (except for the default Windows firewall) and all my other programs work just fine on the Internet.

Any ideas what might cause the issue?

Problem solved.

I actually had to purge all the existing reports using the Disk Cleanup utility.

    yea so what's the real solution to this? your solution is not the solution. it appears a lot of others are having the same problem.

    Fixed

    I hardly found solution for my self and I'm using Windows 8.

    In services check:

    1. Check if Windows Error Reporting Service is working (Automatic)

    2)Check if Network Access Protection Agent is working (Automatic)

    If not then click start and change to automatic.

    I did them and it started.

    Good luck, and I hope it worked.

    If it is not working then there is program called tweeking.com system repair. This program fixes a lot of windows problems including services. It may help.

    Hi Amrita,

    Thank you for your reply.

    I checked the Windows Error Reporting Service, it is started. Also, there were no dependencies listed for this service.

    I tried to disable the Windows firewall as well, still no luck...

    Any further ideas?

    Hi Sbiro,

    Welcome to Microsoft Answers!

    Check for the service Windows Error Reporting Service if it is started or not.

    1.      Click on Start

    2.      In the start Search box type Services

    3.      Right Click on - RUN AS ADMIN

    Check if the below mentioned services has the mentioned status and start up type.

    Windows Error Reporting Service       Started      Automatic\Manual.

    Also check the dependency services that are required for Windows Error Reporting Service to run.

    To check that double click on the service and click on the dependency tab.

    Also try changing the firewall settings and see if that is of any help.
