Updates to Silverlight won't install and can't uninstall

tried updating critical update to silverlight kb97202

over 30 times won't install

kb974331 didn't either 28 times

uninstall silerlight failed 3 times

"This patch could not be opened. Verify that the patch exists and that you can access it, or contact the applications vendor to verify that this is a genuine Windows Installer patch package."

was referred to registry cleaner ;-(

    I have been trying to update Silverlight for over a year now, and always get hung up by the old version failing to uninstall first. Tried everything I could think of and finally found your 'solution.'  IT WORKED LIKE A CHARM ! !   T H A N K   Y O U  !  !  !

    Yeah! I had the same prob! The patch thing.... I didn't know where to go in the registry. Done deal!

    step 2 worked for me....then I simply upgraded to version 5! Now i can stream from Netflix, no problem! Thanks!
