It appears Microsoft is making every effort to kill the Mr. Fixit we all knew and loved. They want to force us to use the ungainly and useless Microsoft Fixit Center online. I don't understand why they are so actively screwing up all the other websites that used to have it. https://support2.microsoft.com/fixit/en-us now leads to a page that doesn't exist. I know that I have downloaded it in the past three months but I cannot find where I found it. Still looking. I have 10 on a laptop but I am having serious doubts about the free upgrade fro my mainstay desk top. Its my understanding the windows 365 is a subscription business model and worse yet you have all your documents in the cloud whether you want to or not. This means that you will probably have to pay fees for space sooner or later. Microsoft apparently wants a steady income stream instead of having to try to sell you a new version of Office every year or so. Guess i will be switching to Open Office as much as I like Excel.
Microsoft Fixit Center Online link is invalid
Yeah, Open Office works fine. I've got MSOffice on my W7 pro version and don't plan on updating to 10 to lose Office. I just put Open on my new laptop. As far as clouds, they are lovely to look at but not to store my important data.
I DID find the Mr Fixit maybe a year ago thru a link out of Singapore or God knows where; after a night searching. I felt like I was doing an alleyway drug deal but downloaded anyway, with no problems. It's on another laptop. I'll do a mega search and see what I can find and post it here. I know it's out there, just not on official microsoft pages.
