Worthless Information due webbpage does not connect any longer and Microsoft does not supply users with similar tools. Specially annoying is the new Problem that appears when servicereleases for Windows 10 are downloaded after having updated from Windows 7 64 pro. Plugg and play for CD/DVD devices disappears as well as access of these devices.. This independent of bios type or PC brand (Bios or UDF). Even regular problems with external USB3 devices appear like messages that devices are not recognized although they ara mounted sometimes and sometimes not. Some WD 1TB red were even destroyed for me by Win 10 so they could not be repaired any longer. So .. what to do about it why so silent about this problem , Microsoft, known since several weeks?
I have Windows 7 64 home edition and still did not update to Windows 10 . After what you just posted I am wondering if I want to update to Windows 10. Microsoft might be silent but I am glad that you are not silent.Sometimes you end up having to pay a high price for something that was suppose to be free.Hope you can get your problem fixed.
I called Microsoft and told them how everyone misses our little friend Mr. Fixit. She said they still "have" the fix it function but you just type in your issue and search the whole site. That's NOT the Mr. Fixit of old lol. Many of us are not aware of what the problem could be and we don't have the terminology in order to make an effective search. I think I have another old laptop on it with a stand alone Mr. Fixit. There are several sites I know I was researching and ONE actually had a link that worked, but can't remember which site. He DOES still exist somewhere.
As far as Windows 10, I'm also on a windows 7 64 biz pro and there is no way I'm updating to 10. They are paring down features and I suppose you will have to pay for those. I think it's just a big railroading scam to get people into paid subscriptions and pay-for-features. I've got a Mac for indesign and they never seem to pull these kind of stunts.
