network printer shows offline

In windows vista my cable network printer shows offline now. Everything else is fine i can still go onto the internet etc. ??

right click on (Network)Printer , choose Properties , go to Ports tab, choose Configure Port , then un-check SNMP Status Enable option,

I had same problem and this solution solved for me, hope this will help for u.

    ... and how do we get to "right click on (Network)Printer , choose Properties "?

    same here. Windows 10 HP Officejet Pro 6830, finally got to "Printer Properties", no SMTP or whatever in "ports"

    Now what? printer says Offline, but Fax version is "ready". don't need fax, need to print.
