Konica Minolta PagePro 1350W compatibilty with Windows 7, comes up as "Unspecified" device

I have a Konica Minolta PagePro 1350W laser printer that works quite well, I just updgraded to Windows7 from XP but my printer doesn't work anymore. It appears as PP1350W in the "Devices and Printers" window as an unspecified device. I tried installing the Vista Drivers for the Page Pro 1400W and now that printer appears in under "printers and Faxes", however the PP1350W is still listed as an unspecified device and printing to the 1400W does nothing. What's worse is not I can't even remove the 1400W no matter how many times I tell it to remove, it just automatically pops up again. Is there a generic driver out there for the PagePro 1350W that will work in Windows7 so I can at least have basic printing functionality?

Hello gUnit101,

From what i see in the Compatibility Center there are several versions of the PagePro printer that are compatible but the 1350 is not listed.  The 1100 and 1400 are listed but not the 1350.  I would check with Konica to see if they have updated drivers for your specific model or see if the drivers for one of the other models can work with your printer.

    I downloaded the files you stated, but I don't know what to do with them now that I have them downloaded.  How do I proceed?  I need the steps due to my lack of knowledge about zip files. 

    I replaced my desktop with a toshiba satellite laptop, but the konica minolta 1350w keeps showing incompatible with windows 7.

    Any help in guiding me thru steps after I have downloaded the files would be appreciated,.

    YEAH!  Finally figured it out --- after reading and downloading 7-zip, I then unzipped the file, I looked inside and saw the setup file and then clicked on it and got the printer installed.  What really confused me about downloading the files was that I was expecting the downloaded file to have an exe extension, but after much concentration figured out that you had to get into the unzipped file and then click on set up to begin installing the printer.

    Glad you figured it out Debbie.

    Just an FYI. 7-zip isnt the most user friendly unzipping program. It can unzip a lot of files even those with long character names. However, for most people they're more than happy with Winzip or Winrar.

    I just wanted to confirm that this works!

    I have Windows 7 x64, and I installed XP Mode.  Once you start up XP Mode, you need to click the USB dropdown menu at the top of the XP Mode window to connect the USB printer.  This disconnects it from the Win 7 host (which can't do anything with it, anyway).  Then, you can install the drivers for it from inside XP Mode.

    I used the pp1350w_gdi_winxp_vista_v1611121_en_inst drivers.

    I've only begun to mess with it, but I haven't been able to share it from XP Mode so that Win 7 can print with it.  It's probably impossible.  Oh well, at printing from inside XP is possible.

    Not sure if this will or will not help anyone.  However the 1350W in the UK is not discontinued and Windows 7 x64bit drivers along with the x32 bit drivers are available from the following website.

    You can thank me now if you like....ps anyone have x64bit drivers for sony mpeg II encoder or Epson scanner 1250...lol
