will Lotus SmartSuite run on Windows 7?

I also got it to install on Windows 7 64 bit with a one terrabyte hard drive. But I also didn't want the entire Smartsuite. I only installed Approach and WordPro. I didn't have to make a separate partition just copied the whole CD into a folder I named Approach. That's also where I store my working files and where the program looks to find them. I never succeeded in installing it from the CD drive after XP but have run it on Vista and Win 7 with no problems.

to ALL the people who say it does not work, you are WRONG.

 

It does work on Win 7 64 bit and works well.

 

The whole product will not load, but separate products like Lotus 123 or WordPro work fine.

A client of mine wanted Lotus 123 running as he had some legacy software that used macros. I tested it on a Win 64 system on a laptop that had a small disk drive - 60GB - purely as a test area. It worked fine. He then bought a new system - core i5, 8GB memory and significantly, a large hard disk - 2TB. The disk was the problem. I built it all (initially) as one drive and Lotus would not install. The Lotus install said the hard disk was -2TB (minus) in size. Weird....... Solution was to make an initial partition of 500GB as drive C and the rest as drive D. Lotus then installed as it should and worked fine.

Couldn't be bothered to find out what the actual disk drive limit was, perhaps some hardware engineer could provide a potential answer.

 

In the end it was nothing to do with the OS, but some hardware limitation. It doesn't even need to be run as XP compatible - it just works!

 

No doubt people saying it won't run have vested interests in "other" products.

Indeed, the hard disk size seems to be the problem.  I reduced the "C:" partition down to 800GB and Lotus and Approach installed from my hard drive with no problem.  Thanks for the info.  I was afraid I was out of luck.

I used Lotus SmartSuite Millennium Edition, office 2000 office XP office 2003 and office 2007 for years. I kept installing them on my new work Computers every year from my personal disc and the companies key codes to a dumb I.T. guy delete them from my work computer for office 2010 and told management. All programs have good points and management know this they fired the I.T. GUY. Now I have every one plus office 2013 and I.T. personnel don’t touch my work computer they just put the disc down on my desk even put new computers down and walk away.

Lotus has been working fine since a year, but yesterday its not working. there is a message is displsying "lotus approach application has stopped working" please solve this issue...
