Microsoft Edge closes immediately upon opening. I've tried many fixes none work.

Yesterday, I wanted to clean up my favorites in Edge (remove duplicates, remove obsolete links). In the midst of this, Edge closed without warning or error message. When I restarted Edge, it closed immediately. I could not select the three dots in the top right. It closed too quickly.

I found several possible solutions including tools in the Settings/Apps menu, other fixes involving removing and then reinstituting the %LocalAppData%\Packages\Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge_8wekyb3d8bbwe directory

None of these fixes worked.

When I restart Edge, it closes immediately.

How can I get it to work properly?

Ether of these are accessible. They are not highlighted for edit or modify or uninstall. What next?

The modify button is greyed out eventhough I'm the only one using it.ican't use the power shell tip. And everything else proposed.

MS really needs to re-evaluate how simplify troubleshooting and quickly resolving Edge not launching properly. I wasted too much time for no solution.

I did similar to this. I renamed the Edge folder and then did a repair as described in other messages.

In my system, when I open it, I can't open the "modify" or "uninstall" tabs.

What can I do to resolve this issue?

I imagine it's the same fix, but since it's a Chromebook, I don't know the location of the User Data folder for Edge. Kill (Force Stop) any processes with MS Edge running and find and delete the User Data folder for Edge. Then restart Edge and sync your MS and Google accounts.
